Maybe they just didn't like the sound of Stu then
Yes will need to book a restaurant but there should be loads in Bakewell.................shouldn't there?
Shaun
That crossed my mind at the time but I've only met him once (Ripon?) and can't recall an accent. More a reflection on the digs rather than Stu mind! If I went to these do's I be tempted to take the campervan (I don't like hotels-and some of the stereotypes you find in them).. But if I took the campervan, then the Lotus would be at home in the garage...which defeats the purpose -d'oh!

You can normally only book for two nights minimum, but someone had booked a Thursday and Friday and I just wanted Saturday so they said OK!
Looking forward to it

I tried to book a couple of weeks ago but as you say, they wouldn't let me book one night. So we are in a B&B in Bakewell - Avenue house. Happy to provide a continental breakfast in the morning.
https://www.bedandbreakfast.eu/bed-and- ... e/2691029/ If we all have the evening meal at the Bagshaw its not far for us to pop round.

The Bagshaw isn't really a hotel! It's a virtually un-manned set of rooms in a lovely old building. No restaurant. No bar. We'll be eating in town somewhere I'd think.

Has everyone else had to pay 50% deposit. It wasnt made clear when we booked but there was a charge on Carol's credit card

Bagshaw have just sent me an email with everyone else's email address attached - their complete guest list!!! I have phoned and asked them to recall the email if they can and pointed out what a serious breach of confidentiality this is! Maybe everyone else can ring as well to reinforce this message! What a set-up

I've cancelled my booking at the Bagshaw and booked into the Grouse and Claret at Rowsley. Half the price!

Where were you all!
We still had the B&B booked so decided to go anyway. Would recommend the Avenue. Slightly odd set up as you have the Manners Pub/restaurant/B&B and 200 yards away is the Avenue owned by the same people. So we stayed in the Avenue but breakfast was in the Manners. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast - not that we usually have time for breakfast when on LITP. The town centre is a short walk away - we pre booked an Indian meal for Saturday night but there are several Pubs/restaurants located in the town. Would definitely stay there again. I think the Avenue has 7 rooms - not sure how many at the Manners. Had a good drive around yesterday and stopped for a drink at the Charles Cotton - where we stayed last year. Not the same without you guys - see you next year,
