Hi Steve,

The first letter denotes the model, and the second denotes the spec.
D, being Elite/ Eclat/Excel. Z being low compression with power steering.

All the Info is in the Excel service notes ( Like a Haynes manual, but a lot more detailed). They always come up for sale on Ebay, and are a must have for all maintenance ( almost as usefull as our beloved lotusexcel.net!!!!!!) You should be able to pick one up for 20 quid, assuming your car didn't come with one.

Steve,

I think that the service notes are included with the parts cd (top right of home page) although it doesn't say so. Might be worth checking with spav.

If not, I'll do you a cd for a donation to spav - to help him with the forum running costs.

I would recommend that you get the parts list, it and the service notes are very, very useful.
