best way to remove paint on a fibreglas body?

I've been trying to remove the lacquer and found a paint scraper from B&Q worked really well...Its the type that uses a standard stanley knife blade so when it gets blunt you can simply swap the blade.

It was amazing how easy the lacquer came off, and on the roof I also used if with great success to remove the top coat (I have a major blister problem on the roof).[/img]

I have fully respayed mine, the only problem I had was where someone else had previously repaired the car. If there is no accident damage or rework the original paint keys nicely.

I have put 4 coats of hi-build etch primer on, rubbed back between coats, the 4 coats of base colour and 3 coats of lacquer. All single pack so I can spary at home.

Shell is ready to be polished but I will not do that until the car is well on the way to be finished. I did polish a small test area and I am well pleased with the results.

mine had a really dodgy respray so i sanded it down all over with 80s down to the original primer then blocked it with a long block with 180s, i then used a flowcoat gelcoat on any exposed fibreglass and spray filled the whole shell,then blocked again with 180s and then plenty of 2k high build primer. thats where i am up to now. i will then coat up with 2k direct gloss then leave it for a few weeks before giving it a soapy flat off and coating up with a 2k basecoat clear black.hopefully i will end up with no ripples or imperfections that black shows up so much
