Tell her there will be others there in a similar position. That sometimes helps. They like having other women to chat with.

That's why I proposed setting up ExcelHQ somewhere so that it can be more of a social event than a tyre-kicking exercise.

And if Shannon is coming - it'll definitely be a lively weekend anyway ;-)

Looking at hotel prices - it seems we can spend from around £70 per room per night up to £200 +

Would someone like to set an upper limit ?

For location : Park Farm Classic at Hethersett seems to be about the closest we could get to the factory : £128 per room per night, inc. breakfast.

Alternatively : Dunston Hall (£204) or Holiday Inn (£65-£75) are the others on the right side of Norwich.

BL**DY LOTUS!

I've just received the invitation - maximum of 2 cars on show and we need to provide evidence of Public Liability Cover to exhibit.

Anyone fancy an alternative competing event ?

Re Lotus Cars - Sounds a bit off. I suppose the reduced number of cars will relate to how much of the factory they want to clear, but the Public Liability Insurance requirement isn't nice, and I assume that it won't be that cheap. Wonder how they covered that item last year?

Hotels seem to be an issue - even the Premier Inn at the showground appears to be booked. I guess we have to decide soon.

Update - quick look at the insurance for event exhibitors shows Hiscox would provide cover for about £75!

Do we have to have cars on display? Can we not just have an area of the car park for excels? Or does that constitute a display?
PS Sounds like Holiday Inn would be good from a financial standpoint.

Stayed at the Old Thorn Barn last night (driver training today) and the guy told me it was block booked before the official announcement by someone from Doncaster. Inside info?
