Good to see you again Chris and several other friends, some new, from the Excel fraternity.
Thought I had got the wrong day - blue sky, sun shining; but the company was as good as always.
Impressed by your seat refurbishment Tony; I will certainly go down the same route.

Alan: I've just checked in the garage, and can confirm it was the Gliptone Liquid Leather kit I used. Specifically their 'Scuffmaster Automotive Kit'.
http://www.liquidleather.com/car-shop.html
My seats were not too bad when I started, just a bit worn in places; especially the driver's shoulder bolster.
I sent a small sample of leather to Gliptone and they sent the matching dye etc.
After removing the front seats (by FAR the hardest bit) I dismantled the seats, as per the technical article on this forum, and followed the Gliptone instructions as to cleaning & conditioning the leather before applying the dye.
I spayed a couple coats, plus a finishing coat that changed the appearance from a matt to a slighly glossy look, as per the other seats.
That was done last October (2011), and I've been very pleased with the results. The seats look and feel just like the rear seats, which I did not need to restore.

Ooh look, there is my black one in between those two immaculate red beauties. Good to meet you guys, see all the other lotus examples as well as a dam good burn up around the track, toyo tyres next time, the warm track took a lot out of my new Dunlops. Good to talk first hand with some long term enthusiasts too.

Hi Alan, that one wasn't me. There was another red Excel on track - F reg I think - and I guess it's the one in the photo. Great day out though and really good to see regular and newer Excel owners there. Alan Morgan seemed very happy with the turnout and the weather, and having the circuit to ourselves (no race transporters for other meetings) made for a brilliant atmosphere.

Is anyone going to put some of these photos into the Calendar thread ? (It's looking a bit bare at the moment - we could have a calendar showing 12 white Excels in the snow at midnight at this rate).
