AFAIK it's a Lucas Type 29W motor - but some 14W parts (including brushes) can be swapped over.
14W parts are still readily available from the likes of

The wiper motor brush set purchased on ebay arrived. Perfect match - advertised as being for Land Rover up to 2001
Putting it back together was easy - getting it back in the car - another story.
I tried to get the wiper motor in position in one piece but could not get the spindle to line up with the hole despite attaching nylon cord to the end of the spindle. So as Chrisyd suggested, I separated the spindle by pulling out the long spiral drive. Then located the spindle in the hole and basically reassembled it all through the instrument aperture. Everything is now working fine. I did buy a wash wipe control module that I haven't used - will keep as a spare. Incidentally, where is that located in the car? Didn't notice it while rummaging about in the dash.

My pektron derby delay unit sits behind binnacle (behind instruments) on top of steering column from memory. Well worth keeping one on the shelf. Only a finite number were produced and I'm pretty sure they are unique to the later excels.

I think that spring popped when I was messing with it. They are so dirty that if you push them in they don't return fully. I will give them a good clean and keep them as a spare. You would think after 118,000 miles there would be more wear difference between the old and new ones. Previous owners must have only driven it on dry days
