Re: Elite/Eclat/Excel meeting - 2013 ?
I'm sure the general public don't know / worry about the LOTUS F1 lineage. It has got to be a good thing for LOTUS to have a LOTUS badged F1 winner even if they didn't have any input. You never know, it might put the value of EXCELs up (or not...), but hopefully it will encourage some new LOTUS sales and keep the company from going under.

I'm between a rock and a hard place now. The response from this community has far surpassed what I expected (about 50% more bookings than anticipated - we seem to have a lot of lurkers!) so we are already in danger of having too many bookings. If it gets opened up even further, it could spoil the event by making it too big and resulting in complaints about the number of cars on the road on Saturday - or not having enough track time on the Sunday.
On the other hand, I don't want to see any Elite/Eclat/Excel owners who are keen to participate feeling that they have been excluded. Maybe the best way, for now, is for a single TLF member to act as liaison and approach those who are definitely eligible (i.e. Elite/Eclat/Excel) TLF members, who are not also on here, to let them know what is happening and pass on a booking form if they are interested ?
I *think* it should be possible for anyone else interested to turn up as spectators on the Sunday - but I do need to check with Croft & Lotus Newcastle (as primary sponsors) that they would be happy with this arrangement. It does increase exposure to potential liability for injuries as the numbers at the track increase.

Re: Elite/Eclat/Excel meeting - 2013 ?
It is wonderful that this is a problem!
Possibly a way to help everyone join in is to break the weekend down into components....there may be people who have signed up for the "whole package" who may not be able or wish to do it all. eg I can't wait for the meal and guest speakers, but would happily give up my Beamish place. Similarly the track time would be prized by some, ambivalent for others.
Also, as it is quite late in the day some people may simply not be able to commit to 2-4 days out of their working life.
There will also be different "capacity" levels for various elements, i.e. limitations on the saturday meals, but limitless on the barbecue (within reason!) given paid-up numbers in advance. It might bring a small profit in for those who would otherwise just turn up and gawp at the rest of us for free!
Therefore could it be broken down into;
1. Saturday lunch & Beamish trip
2. Saturday evening meal
3. Sunday track sessions
4. Sunday spectating & barbecue
??

Re: Elite/Eclat/Excel meeting - 2013 ?
Sunday's not just about track time and barbecue - there will be one or two other things going at the same time.
In hindsight, having some different packages might have been a good idea - but plans are so far advanced it would be difficult to introduce them now without creating a situation where some people want refunds and the numbers for each activity start to fluctuate wildly. I've found, at the Euro-events I've been to, that the best thing is usually just to muck in with everyone else and do the bits you don't think you'll like - often they're quite pleasantly surprising, mainly because you're in the company of people who haven't seen it all before and who share your passion for Lotus.
Even if I do try to produce different packages for this year, it still doesn't take away the over-subscription risk!
For the future though -.....
Meanwhile - general policy this is that Elites/Eclats & Excels will be accepted as long as they book before the published closing date. I'm afraid everyone else will have to wait and see if we still have places left after that. If they're really keen to join in, they can contact me via my forum email address and I'll create a waiting list for them on a first-come first served basis.

Not oversubscribed yet. I can ring the circuit and check if there are age limits on Monday.

Re: Elite/Eclat/Excel meeting - 2013 ?
I am attending too. Room booked for Friday and Saturday so only 1 twin left now. Won't be doing the track so how much do I have to pay please Angus? and can I pay you in cash on arrival?
Didn't think I would be able to make it due to Mr Taylor relieving me of my savings
but missing out would have been too much to stomach. Really looking forward to the weekend now.
Are there many wives / women going? as my wife won't want to be the only female
