Those who've already posted - are you willing to trade your tickets for VIP passes so we can get a Marquee inside the compound ?
Could you just briefly explain the differences between regular and VIP ticket?

Sorry - should have mentioned. Here's what Lotus have told me about them so far :
"For all Clubs that are displaying, we are sending 10 free VIP badges which not only allows site access - but allows them to park here at Hethel."
i.e. if we book a Marquee at £300 we get 10 passes, but since we've collectively spent at least £360 on tickets so far, I'm haggling to get them swapped for a Marquee + the VIP badges. Response has been pretty positive so far.
So - we could actually have up to 10 cars on site and avoid having to use the park 'n' ride.

CHANGES TO TICKET PRICES & PARKING ARRANGEMENTS
Just received this - has anyone else had it ? (I have asked the obvious question for those of us who have already paid for and received tickets)
"Unfortunately, due to poor response, we have had to reassess some factors ofthe open day. We have received a lot of complaints about the cost of tickets and the cost of club marquees, which we have taken note of. In response to this clubs will be able to display for free and will receive 2 club tickets for each display vehicle they bring on site (still a maximum of 3). The club stands will now be in factory 8, and thus marquees are not required, however clubs will still be provided with 1 6ft trestle table and 2 chairs. If clubs wish to bring another table and a couple more chairs they are welcome to do so.
In terms of tickets for general sale, the price has been reduced to £15 per car, with a maximum of 4 adults per car, any additional adults cost £5 per head, children under 16 go free. On top of this, anybody arriving in a Lotus Product can park onsite at Lotus Hethel. All other vehicles to be parked at the Norfolk Showground (fully secured and attended) where a free continual bus service is provided. Full parking instructions will accompany your
tickets.
Thank you for your support. I have attached a revised version of the open day flyer detailing price and parking changes."

Nope, must be hot off the press. My ticket still had the original detail and was only received yesterday.

Good Evening
Thank you everyone who has signed up to come to this event, Tony has told me how, once again, LEF are leading the clubs in attendance and support. I have today been involved in meetings about the event and would like to let you all know that I am 100% behind this event, to such an extent that we wish to attract more people. As such we are looking at decreasing the entry fee to £15. Everyone who has paid already will be reinmbursed or start the day with £15 credit to spend.
Some clubs have complained that they can't get members to come due to not being able to go direct to the factory in their cars. I feel I must explain that this is not a decision made by the factory and is actually Police and County Council restrictions. I am currently appealing this decision and we will be in touch if there is any change in the current situation.
I would appreciate it if anyone who knows members/other club owners would let Tony have their details so we can contact them.
Once again, thankyou for your continued support, I wish many clubs took your mature and enthusiastic response.
We all look forward to welcoming you to the factory on 23rd September.

Sorry for not commenting sooner - away in the Lakes.
My email from Lotus indicates a refund is coming - I had bought two tickets.
Are we still going to put the cars on show?

Hi Angus,
I'm the owner of K2 EXL, which according to the factory is the third from last Excel. (The car is a clean, low mileage, unmodified, example in Pacific Blue and Magnolia trim.)
My wife and I are planning to attend the event at Hethal and we would be delighted to support the forum by displaying the car on your stand. Please advise if this is of interest. Thank you.
Regards
PS - This is my first posting. As a courtesy to the wider forum I will send an introductory post shortly.
