Should now be coming to this (on the Sunday) - to look at a couple of Excels for sale as it happens. I'd be really interested to get a comparison if there are any other owners who'd be willing to show me round their cars?

You will have 5 to look at including Brian Swankie's which is for sale and looks like a new one if the pictures on Lotusbits web site are anything to go by. Expensive but all the work is done so cheaper in the long run.

Mike Taylor suggested ptinting off a copy of the page on his wesite that shows pictures with text of how Brian restored the car, but I can't get it to print so if anyone else who is coming to the show can do it that would be good. I will phone Brian tomorrow to see if he has more pictures,
Cheers, Phil

Phil, I managed to fiddle with the HTML and got a couple of reasonably-clear printouts. I'll bring them with me.
Mind you, not sure I want to be promoting someone else's car!! Especially at that price. I know where there's one much cheaper.

Chris - if you meet the rest of the group at the agreed location & time, we should have a spare ticket for you.

That's very kind. I've actually just arranged a press pass, but if the ticket is definitely surplus to requirements I might see about bringing another petrolhead along to keep me awake on the journey!

That’s great. I knew some clever computer person could do it.
Don’t worry about your car. I’m sure people will be falling over themselves to buy a burgundy example.

Just spoke to Mike T again to make sure his blokes know where we are meeting. He say's if they are not at the Old Mill they will find us at the show. Brian Swankie is coming down from Scotland on Saturday and will pick up the car from Lotusbits then meet us at the Old Mill Sunday Morning. I have his phone number.
Cheers, Phil

I didn't realise Brian was coming all the way down from Scotland. The fact it's taken me a while to head up from London to the Midlands to see his car must seem rather pathetic now! :D

Well that was a nice day. Good to meet everyone again, and several new people too.

And a visitor coined a new colour for my car: "damson" :? to add to burgundy, maroon, claret, shiraz, merlot and Silk Red.

Yes, it was really good to see everyone again. Excels and sunshine - good combo! Even the coffee and pasties were good :D
