Door beams......

Post by Johnwindwood »

As some will remember, whilst we were in France, the Excel clutch master packed in. Whilst the garage were fixing it, the (admittedly stiff) drivers hinge pin seized completely and to get the door open they severely damaged the beam.
We managed to get a second hand aftermarket beam to replace it with at a good price and today I stripped it all down.

Interesting to note that the original beam (pretty certain it's original) was only welded to the pin tube on three sides. The replacement is welded on all four. It seems like a MUCH better arrangement!

I would post pics, but honestly I cannot work out how to do it! I know that image hosting can be added to the forum at a cost-can't we crowd fund it people???
Kind regards

John
