Going for a run out tomorrow down to Staithes.
Last of the Optimax gone.
'V Power' fill up tomorrow night.
Shell sent me a new loyalty card and sales stuff yesterday.
The Chesterfield run will be on the new stuff.
Don't really expect to see much differnce.
Although the info now says it has friction reducers added.
To me that means upper cylinder lubricants. Could mark the end of me adding Redex.

Yep - and 20 miles later I had 5/10 miles of suffering from what I am almost certain is crap in the carbs - coincidence I trust!

Being an early car mine hasn't got the inline fuel filter - another little job for the list.
I must be getting old - Optimax sounds so much less boy racerish......

Spent most of the day yesterday ballancing the carbs and fiddling with the mixture screws, trying to get rid of that blessed flat spot on gentle accelleration between 2500 and 3000 rpm.
When I got up this morning I decided to take the car on a bit of a run down to Worthing, so I filled up with V-Power on-route.
Now I'm not sure whether my fettling with the carbs has worked wonders ( no flat-spot, and what appears to be a lot more power,) or if it's the fuel that can make such a difference.
Regardless, I feel
with a bit of
thrown in for good measure!

Perhaps you need the "right" badge on the bonnet (and a couple of Frisbees on the rear wheels) to benefit from Shell V-power ? (developed in association with Fiat....)

I run Optimax in the Quattro and it has a slight flat spot at about 2500 revs I will try the V-Power next fill up.
On-line parts manual
Full access with a one-off payment of 20GBP. Enter your username and click the button. You will receive a PM with access details, once payment is complete. This is a manual process, please allow 1 or 2 days for access to be granted. Payment will show as Span6. http://www.fromdusktildawn.netRan the tank down to 1 gallon the put 19 gallons of V Power in. 50 miles later still got a slight flat spot at about 2K Revs. Cannot really notice any other difference. I will keep an eye of fuel ecconomy though.
