Lotus Certificate of Provenance

Post by rogbmw »

I received my Lotus Certificate of Provenance yesterday. Great information included. One thing I found out that was interesting was that my Excel SE was the only LHD one made for the 1987 model year in white with full black leather interior. It also looks like it was at the dealership for a year before being sold. It was listed as a 1988, but is actually a 1987 model. It really was a nice package.

Could it have been a demonstrator? Mine was registered with the dealer for first 8 months of its life.

If you've not got a provenance cert and want one, get in quick.
Just read on TLF that the big bosses in China are cutting heads and one that's going is the Company Archivist.
Not good for the heritage !!!!☹️
What goes together.... Must come apart.

That’s really bad news and so much for them spouting the importance of the marque’s heritage and assume the proposed heritage/museum at Hethel was just a pile of hot air!!

Also, having met him, feel sorry for Andy Graham - he’s a thoroughly nice guy.

I wonder if there will be anyway the records could be held by another organisation - Club Lotus? Classic Team Lotus?
