Lotus Excel SE carpet underlay

Hi guys,

About to fit new carpets and underlay into my 88 SE.
Question : -
Was underlay fitted to the floor pan under the seats and into the footwells?

Yes, hard rubber backed foam over all of floor, bulkhead, gearbox tunnel and sides behind rear quarter trim. Not over inside of sills - carpet glued direct to fibreglass here.
It’s very good at soaking up any water !!!
Most now replace with modern material.
