Just spotted this on ebay. I think this has to be an all time high asking price for an Excel

That’s been for sale for well over a year. Originally advertised as an Esprit Excel.

The dealership selling it does mostly modern stuff (although there is a 911 and A-H 3000 listed too). My theory is that they took it in as a part-ex at some point, the salesman accidentally valued it as an Esprit rather than Excel and way over-paid for it. Now they are stuck with it and have to sell it at £30k to avoid accepting a massive loss, and they are praying that some buyer comes along who is as daft/ill-informed as their own salesman, and buys it for Esprit money. That strategy doesn't seem to be working out for them.

And unsurprisingly 2 years on and it’s still for sale.
Just relisted on eBay - https://ebay.us/m/T8mhmB

Still for £30k, and misdescribed as 160bhp.
Let’s see if it’s still for sale by same dealer in another 2 years.

Actually says BARN FIND in the eBay advert !!
Can't believe this has been stuck in dealers showroom for 2 years. My guess is it's owned by a collector, still in his collection and being advertised VERY speculatively under commission.
It's possibly a very good car, but 50% overpriced, even if it's absolutely immaculate.

Could well be !
Barn find 🤔😂😂
How bad was the owners memory - parked in barn 5 years ago and forgot where they left it??
Only done 1822 miles in 21 years and last MOT expired in 2020

It’s likely to take a good few £1,000s to recommission.

I work in Aviation and had 2 brothers turn up one day asking if we had their 30Million pound jet with 6 hours on the clock!

It's easy to forget the thing we were talking about
