Post by Bavarian Éclat »

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself since I am new on this platform.
My Name is Stefan and since October last year i own a 1982 Lotus Eclat S2.2 Riviera.

I am based in southeastern Bavaria and it would be great to learn about my car, restoration, tips and tricks :D

Cheers
Stefan

Welcome Stefan! The Series 2.2 Riviera is a fantastic and very rare car. Lovely. Is it also left hand drive?

Thank you Pete.

Yes it really is. I have not seen much Lotus on car meetings (besides Esprit or Elise) but never an Eclat.

It is Right Hand Drive, which is a little awkward here in Germany, but I get used to it. :)

Welcome.
An S2.2 Riviera is a rare and wonderful thing.
Lots of good info on here - you’ll find the search function invaluable.

Thank you for the warm welcome :)
Since The Eclat needs a little bit of attention, I am happy that I found a place where I can ask people and find info.

The Eclat was originally sold in the UK but made his way to the Netherlands somehow.
From there he made his way to Germany and ended up in my Garage.
My predecessor refurbished the brakes and dampers and I have already added new belts, cooling pipes and rewired the cooling fans.
My plan is to keep him in shape and make him reliable, but I like that old cars have "patina".

Welcome, and I'm in the same camp regarding old cars, get them into good running order, use, service and love them but don't go so far as to loose the historical patina they have gained....
