My trimmer has shaped a replacement for the above out of foam, alas leather will not stick to it. He is telling me there is silicone in the strip which prevents leather adhering, even using Bostik!
Any suggestions to remedy this problem Please....

Assuming it's the leather (you didn't reply on TLF) just buy some more.
