LOTUS Excel (E reg) - £1750 ono Edinburgh

HI,

I have decided to sell my Green Lotus Excel which I bought in the summer with the intention of fully restoring. The car requires a retrim as the roof lining has been removed and the cloth seats are past thier best.

The 2.2 engine runs well on its twin 45 dellortos.

The bodywork overall is pretty good with minimal paint repairs required however door frames corroded.

The alloys have been refurbished and are all good.

This lotus has had a lot of money spent on it and comes complete with stainless exhaust and uprated suspension, there are ££££'s of reciepts.

There is no MOT or TAX but the car would drive on trade plates. The MOT only recently expired and the car would pass relatively easy as this is purely a cosmetic restoration project...mechanicaly this is okay.

If this is E-reg why has it got old wheels and "in the window" mirrors???

what wheels should it have? They are the same as on mine and the mirrors are the same too!

It looks correct to me. The updates were not available until very late in 1988, when the 1989 model was introduced with different mirrors, wheels, spoilers (front and rear), different bonnet and 'B' pillar being the easy things to spot.
