The Lotus Grand Tourers

1985 Lotus Excel, 2.2, SE.

Just been recommissioned after a long time of standing. Long list of jobs have been completed on the car which include; a full and comprehensive general service on the engine; a new coil and distributor have been fitted; new battery; oil change (using Duckhams Classic Sport oil); new oil filter; all engine wiring has been checked with new connectors and connections completed where needed; new water pump has been fitted; also a new timing belt and auxiliary belts for alternator, power steering pump etc. The car has an auxiliary cooling fan fitted which is manually operated from inside the car, in addition to the original fan. Also fitted are two brand new K&N oval chrome style air filters. The car has also been put on a diagnostics machine and tuned.

Inside, the car has been completely stripped back and rebuilt with the dash, centre console, centre tunnel, front door cards, rear quarter cards all refurbished. Brand new head lining has been fitted, and also a brand new fitted carpet set has been installed. Again, all wiring and electrics have been checked and new switches added to make sure everything is working.

The car is red and still has the original alloys for its year, which have been overhauled. Bodywork on the car is generally very good overall, making this a very attractive car.

All in all this is a very good example of this early Lotus Excel. Car comes with a year's MOT and 6 months tax.And excellent reg XEL***B. The car is for sale at £3600.
