Fuel pump cut-off

I been thinking about taking the electrical feed to the fuel pump and re-wiring it through a switch hidden in the boot as an anti-theft measure.
Has anyone done this ?

Not on the excel but on my old Spitfire I put a tap in the fuel line in the boot. Ive lost count of the number of times it conked out half a mile down the road and I spent 20 mins trying to work out why before I remembered the tap
