does the gear knob unscrew or is it nutted or threaded

There is a small locking grub screw at the front of the gear knob just above the gaiter which secures the gear knob.
Allen key (small) but can't remember the size. Needs to be released first.

and after unlocking the grub screw the gear knob can be unscrewed.
