I was all set to fit 205/55 to the front of my car until I did some checking and concluded they would foul on full lock in the same way that 225/50 did on mine. It's all down to the sidewall height. ie. 225/50 have the same sidewall height as 205/55.
I think 205/50 is the size the factory suggested using.
At the moment I have 205/50 front and 225/50 rear
