For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Does anybody know of a suitable replacement alternator for my 1990 SE?
The Lotus part number according to the guys at Hethel is A910E6604F
Thanks,

Get it renovated at a specialist with new bearings and carbon contacts - and maybe a new relay.

Cost estimate is 150 £

Thanks for that Megatech. This may well be the solution. I'm having a hard time finding a new one!
I just want to get it fixed and go for a long drive!

AFAIK it's a pretty standard Lucas alternator

this one : http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops ... 82f350cca2

might do the job - the only problem I had when I thought I needed a replacement was getting the right sort of mounting bracket on the alternator body. In the end, I didn't need one after all so never got round to getting the right sort IDed.

The one above looks about right to me, though, and they do list it for the Eclat.

SORN - just say NO!
