The Lotus Grand Tourers

Hi all. I'm looking at having to remove the binnacle of my Excel as it needs to be recovered. Never having attempted this before could you provide some information on how to do it and timescales.

Is it the letr style?
I'll answer assuming it is.

Remove the trim from benearth the stering column (two tim clips turn through 90degrees) remove the nuts from the very long bolts, one at the right hand side. there's another such bolt in the left hand corner, I accessed mine by removing the wooden heater panel trima nd metal plat behind it and screwing my hand in strange angles. Then you're left with removing the wooden trim around the speedo and the metal plat behind that, there's another pair of bolts at the back of the binnacle accessed that way.

If you don't have a manual you are more than welcome to pop round to mine (1/2 mile form a11 B1108 junction) and borrow it. similarly, I have a spare binnacle if you wish to lok to understand how it's secured.

I may take you up on your invitation should I have a problem. It is not going to happen soon as there are other things that will have to happen before that. The list is growing at an alarming rate so this is low down as yet.

I have to do that job now!
I have a later SA (1987) and note from the service notes that there are 6 number M6 bolts, but only 4 are shown on the diagram.
3 of these can be seen from the panel below the steering wheel, so no problems there, and I am sure I can find the one above the radio.
Anyone know where the other two are, and whether they are vertical (like the 4) or horizontal?
Any information appreciated.
Be great if a photo of a binnacle from the back could be provided
