Remaining items for sale

Post by worzel4u »

Hi

Still have the following items for sale-

Retract and retract control relays for the headlight system (2 of one and one of the other- I can't recall which is which) All work and never been water damaged (my old car didn't leak). £20 the three- cheap at the price!

Found- 4 stainless door hinge shims- need slight tidying up- £4 for the lot

One 82 degree thermostat (I changed the one in my car to 74) £3

One new wheel stud £3

Also found (don't remember buying these) two brand new "finishers" for the black rubbing strip running around the flanks. Normal new price (if still actually available) £7.50 each £10 the two inc UK postage

Lastly- two door frames. As I stated in earlier ad these are straight, rust free (chemically dipped). Painted in 2 pack black but now have some white emulsion splashes on them. They need the oblong attachment brackets either removing and new ones welded on (they're not rusted I assure you) or one side on each needs to be welded up (half inch run of weld on each). The quarterlights (green tint) are bonded in. They'll keep your car on the road- I wouldn't hold your breath for the new ones supposedly being made - an engineer friend of mine reckons that you need a run of thousands to make them viable top produce. £150 the two.

Contact either on 0151 480 8400 or jmb2@blueyonder.co.uk or via this forum.

Regards

John

Sorry John, but your engineer friend is wrong - we need fewer than 50 to make it worthwhile - that's one of the benefits of using aluminium extrusions.

Its not happened yet though has it?
I mean LotusBits have been advertising them for over 18 months, and every time you call they never know if / when they are being made. I cant see it happening.

Hi

I'm no expert on these things but the guy who told me about the frames ie the viability of making them actually works in the extruded alloy industry. He's no axe to grind as he wouldn't be interested in branching out into car supplies. He might well be out of touch with any recent developments in manufacturing but he's been running his own engineering business for around 30 years so he must have some knowledge.
