Elite tailgate struts and lower windscreen trim

Does anyone know where I'd get a cost-effective replacement set of tailgate struts for a lotus Elite as they appear very weak and don't support the glass at all.

I'd like direct repalcements if possible as I don't want to start hacking things about.

Also need a lower piece of bright trim for the front windscreen which I hear are not readily available.

Any help or advice is appreciated
