My car is watertight!

So after 2 days spent outdoors in heavy rain and a muddy field I cleaned the car inside and out today and yipee both foot wells are dry as a bone! Steps taken were:
1) New Lotus door seals which to be honest were disappointing as they did not grip very well so I ran a layer of silicone in them and refitted them.
2) I sealed the windscreen with clear silicone on the outside.
3) After putting in a new throttle cable I sealed the aperture into the engine bay but that would not have stopped water into the passenger foot well that I had originally.
4) I checked the vent drain to make sure it was clear
5) Silicone around the wiper base
6) Put duck tape over the openings in the foot wells that allows access to several nuts so I need to take this off to see if any water is being held back behind it
So at least one of them has done the trick am not sure which one my money would have been on the door seals but the ones I took off were full of silicone! Plus the carpets around the doors/sills were not wet and mouldy like the floor ones and the transmission tunnel ones?
