Grampian Transport Museum Seedfest (sunday 1st July)

I'm wondering if any of the guys from north of the border (or even further south) are planning on going to the Speedfest at Alford this Sunday 1st July? I have been asked back with "the first excel" again this year and I would be well pleased to meet any fellow wedge owners for a blether about all things Lotus. I will also be at Glamis Extravaganza the following weekend for both days, both of these events are excellent days out and are well worth a visit.
Cheers,
Brian Swankie.

Hi Brian,
Must speak with SWMBO but if I'm allowed out to play I'll try and make it.

We live in Alford now so I'm definitely dragging the family along!
Last time we were down at the museum our 3 year old eldest told me he wants to be a racing driver when he grows up and he wants to use my Excel! He's got good taste but I don't think he's going to win many races.....

I'm planning on going (if the rain eases up!). Hint - if you go to GroupOn today they're doing a Family Ticket for a tenner, useful saving...
Bagpussawake - didn't realise you're in Alford now, that explains why I haven't spotted your car outside your old house when I drive the kids to school for a while!!

Bought the ticket so really hope to be there on Sunday.
Have to install kickboards (with LED lights) for 30 kitchen units tomorrow in our new kitchen so I'm allowed out to play on Sunday. Henpecked, yup and proud
With the prospect of 4 Excel owners together, how to meet up? in a location that will be busy!!!
Brian, I have your mobile, Richard I have your e-mail, I'm sure we can work something out. See you Sunday!!!!!

Bit of a damp day but many many interesting cars to be seen and somewhat cynically the old bill had two speed traps on the way up to Alford
Brian's Excel/Prototype is chuffing great, different in many ways and a really sorted interior, it was a pleasure to meet you and your wife Brian.
Was also really good to meet Richard (and his kids)
Lambo's, Dancing Donkeys, TVR's, Porkers and Marcos a plenty but only one Excel on show
Interesting parking in the local field, I'm glad that I got out a wee bit early before it was truly turned to quagmire. How did you do Richard.
In all, a good day...... Photos to follow

Yeah, a good day despite the intermittent drizzle. Hey, this is Aberdeenshire, you take what you get weather-wise!
Good to meet you guys Mark and Brian - thanks Brian for not looking too alarmed as my kids pawed your car!
Always some interesting vehicles on display at Speedfest, my daughter is now determined to own a Cobra, my sons are split between an Ariel Atom (despite being beaten in the Pursuit by a Z4 - really???) and an MGB.
Yes, the exit was a bit tricky - I opted for the keep-your-foot-in-and-hope-for-the-best approach to the quagmire!
Dave - again, we seem to fail to meet up but our cars get to see each other!!

I did go but didn't meet anyone! Saw your car Brian, it's lovely, especially the interior (a particular problem on mine

)
Missed you again Richard, btw that's not mine next to Lilith, it's sitting, slightly sick, on our driveway. I wonder if it was Mark's or do we have another local one?

Mark's is dark red, and our other known local Keiran is yellow (for now!). Hmmm, so I've tracked down a mystery Excel! Silver, wide-body, can't remember if I saw SE badges on it, black oval-ish LOTUS logo - and it's lost it's original petrol cap!
Dave, I hope your car gets well soon...

That's great there's another one around (and in the best colour too

), now we just need to get him on the forum...
Mine should be up and running soon, a package of goodies from Lotusbits arrived this week, I just need a couple of dry evenings and either it'll be fixed our I'll be on here looking for help, I'm running out of ideas if this doesn't work
