Hi Tim, welcome to the forum
You've probably worked this out for yourself but the best places to look other this board are Pistonheads, Car&Classic and Ebay. Plenty of information on this site as to what to look for when buying if you need it.
Good luck with your search.
Regards
Shaun

Yes I have found a few.
I am after a good well kept model and hoped that a member may have one on here that was in need of a good home.

How about this? Refurbished and modernised. Stylish - but no longer a classic.
http://1987LotusExcel.wordpress.com Ignore the price. I am open to offers as I have moved to USA and sadly after all the work and cost I cannot take it with me.

its purely a matter of opinion, but I do not think that modifications disqualify any car from classic status unless they are so great that it is no longer recognisable. I think that ian's is quite tastefully done and remains as much a classic as any excel.

And on that car if the mods weren't to someone's particular taste most could be undone for little cost or effort. The interior is fantastic.

The waistline can't be put back, and it would be an effort to restore the mirrors. Modified cars rarely get returned to standard in my experience, it's just too much bother and expense you don't get back
