Pretty much impossible, so it's a choice of going smaller or larger. 205 55 15 seems the common choice.

After a long search recently for 215/50/15s I gave up and went for Bridgestone Potenza RE002s in 205/50/15. A few people on here have had good experiences with them. There really is very little difference in shape and size:

I use 215 45 15 Toyo T1-R Tyre, never driven a better tyre both on
The track and the road and if you choose your time right you can get them quite cheap

What is the speedo variance for this size?

The only new 215/50 R15 tyres I have been able to find is: Yokohama ADVAN A050 R SPEC TYRE

They are available in GS (soft) or a M Medium) compounds, both are 88V rated.

I was quoted today $375 per tyre.
But they are the best and they are street legal.

Don't know don't care I have an electronic speedo. But as most excels have a unreliable speedo am sure it wouldn't be noticeable.

If the standard was 205 x 55 then these would read less so no issue.

Maybe great in the dry of Australia but for the same reason I don't use 888s I spend more time in the damp than the dry in the Uk

215/45 - speeds would read 4% fast compared to original (215/50) and the original speedo nearly always reads fast (up to 10%) so less likelihood of breaking speed limits. You'd be doing about 26mph when the (original speedo) speed reads 30mph and about 64mph when you think you're doing 70mph ..O-60 times will seem better too!

Ride height is 1 cm lower IIRC.

Just changed the fronts to 205/50/15 as I couldn't get the 215s. The tyres always rub on the arches on full lock. This is 99% better with the 205s . Fitted Uniroyal rainsport 3 at £74 each fitted. Lots of grip and less road noise. Going to do the back as well soon.

The other tyres that looked at were the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 and the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2. Brigestones probably look the most sporty of these.
