For anyone who wants to investigate/play with the internals of a ZF gearbox from an SA I have the complete internals from one - free to good home :D. I need to make space!

I rebuilt the ZF 5HP24 in my Jaguar sedan summer before last after the dreaded A-drum cracked. I was able to make or cobble together from hardware store materials, most all of the "special tools" that were called out in the ZF repair manual.

This guy shows in a series of nine videos how he did it and in one of the vids, he very briefly describes the tools he made. That's where I got my ideas from. I know its a different model, different number of gears, in the Jag, but as a DIYer, you may find it educational.
