That Gold NEC Elite S2 going back to auction
The gold Elite S2 that sold at NEC about 2 years ago is heading back to auction. Has been up for sale for around 12 months for £18k.

Generally rusty under neath

Re: That Gold NEC Elite S2 going back to auction
I was thinking I might go and have a look as it's so close to where I work, but it seems I have to buy a £30 catalogue just to get into one of the viewing days, so I'll leave it & hope to see it out and about at some point in the future.
I'd have been interested to see the foil wrapped bright work.

Just stick some aluminium tin foil on yours and that will give you an idea of how bad it looks.

"The cream leather interior was fully refurbished at the same time"
The leather is very clearly ripped in places and coming apart at some seams so not sure how they get away with describing it as fully refurbished?

But make sure you fit it badly so it doesn’t quite go to the ends of each piece of trim.ebikediver wrote: Wed Apr 09, 2025 07:54Just stick some aluminium tin foil on yours and that will give you an idea of how bad it looks.![]()

Right. Thanks. I get the picture. It sounds like this car is nothing special & not even worth the short trip to have a look (I wasn't thinking of buying). I have two project Elites, waiting for me to get going on if I ever manage to retire, & one of them has had all the trim pieces acid etched (if that's the correct terminology) then painted silver with the kind of paint you'd see on a car's body. Needless to say, this is not quite the look I aspire to.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

No, I hadn't seen that DIY chrome kit before. It looks like it could be a good product, but that's not the look I'm after either - too shiny. Anyway, this really isn't something I need to worry about just yet - there's a long way to go before I need to think about about the trim pieces.bash wrote: Thu Apr 10, 2025 22:12 Seen this stuff ?

There's a Red on also still doing the Auction rounds. Historic Auctions has this one in an auction 1st March with guide price £13 - £17K.
A very non standard car, but it is MOT'd ( Hooray
) and has spent at least some time on the road in the last 10 years.

Doesn’t seem to be getting much early action on the bidding.

It's also been heavily molested with wrong wheels and seats, not a good example.MetBlue wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 10:48 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/376154962102 ... &recoPos=1
