Never watch Taggart, however the Excel seems to have featured in the series.
Anyone see it?

I think the Excel in Howard's way was one of the character's cars for a while, I seem to remember it was on more than once. Was it the guy who also had an Alpine A610?
There was an Excel in Bird's of a Feather as well, it was the neighbour's (Dorian?) if I remember right, it was mentioned a few times (as "The Lotus") and I'm sure they all squeezed into it for a trip somewhere in one episode.
Jeremy.

We've got the first three series on DVD. The Excel only appears briefly in the background at some sort of outdoor reception. Nor do I recall seeing an Alpine A610. They must be in series 4,5 or 6. As far as I know, these series have not been released yet on DVD, so I can't check.16VJay wrote:I think the Excel in Howard's way was one of the character's cars for a while, I seem to remember it was on more than once. The A610 on Howard's Way has a Lotus link itself - it is reputed to be where someone on the M100 Elan project spotted an alternative rear light unit for the M100, when the Isuzu units originallty specified failed to meet lighting regs!
When Lotus asked Alpine/Renault if they could have some, allegedly they were told yes, and did they want all the Federal ones that had been made for Alpines that never went to the US.....
