Re: Lotus Excel
@fitz: true, my comments are often harsh, but the reality is often hasrsh.
if somebody sells his excel on the upper price limit...than it must reflect this price limit.
cleaning the interior and polishing the paintwork is one thing, but keeping an enginebay tidy and clean, also the car´s underneath, is another story...and exactly in these 2 areas you can split the "good" from the "bad" ones.
i didnt say that the green one is sh.., but reflecting the price the seller asks its must be better!!
considering that , unfortunately, these cars do not have a high value, each pound needs to be calculated twice...often you can buy a car for 500pound more, which compared to another, "contains" a 2000pound higher value in parts, condition and so on.
these are the facts and end of discussion!!
its not e.g. a Morgan which has a price range between an average and a really good car from 18000 to 28000pound!!!

Out of interest, how old are you Micha ?

Re: Lotus Excel
Thanks for the various offers of cars etc, I'd like to say that I have bought my Excel now, just waiting for some kinks to be ironed out before picking it up.

Re: Lotus Excel
Mica you are unreal - cars are made to be driven and the car gets driven on the road regularly and in winter - what value is a shiny underside? regular maintenance, history and receipts are more important
