Correct Dash Fixing Screws

Post by OpticalBoffin »

I'm getting a friend to refurbish the wooden dash veneer on my '89 SA. The screws that held it on were bright cadmium plated Philips screws but I don't think these are original because they look too shiny. Can anyone tell me what the correct screws were and what finish they had?

Also one of the square plastic captive nuts in the metal dash plate that the screws go in to is missing. Does anyone know where to get them?

It's not that I can't do it, it's just that I don't know how.

I'm using a home-made carbon-fibre dash panel now - If you pm me your address I'll stick one in a Jiffy bag. I think the screws are black No.6 countersunk self tappers - can't remember the length.
