Wiper question

Post by don.hasi »

I have never heard before that there were any sidepin wipers but after searching in the board, it makes sense to me. I thought that the owner before has changed the one blade wiper against a twin blade and the second is now missing. Why? Cause somebdoy has managed the single blade direct on the arm  in other words direct on the main pin :?

I don´t know how to get this off. Any suggestions about here?

It seems to me, that the pin is drilled through the blade, but it also seems to be stock... no damage or work could be seen.

At the end of the arm you can just see the little tab for the spring that holds the pin in place - lift the tab and the pin should be able to slide.

SORN - just say NO!

Hi.
Those pin type wipers were mainly used on 1980's Japanese cars(Toyota etc) the hole in the wiper blade would always wear much larger so the blade would wobble about.
Dont lose the pin as might be hard to find these days.

Cheers, Terry

As Angus says the tab at the end of the arm will release the pin. I converted to a flat blade wiper a while ago and a very helpful chap at Halfords provided me free with a couple of pins.
This may be possible at other branches although I have to say that the man I saw at Halfords Burton was our sort of chap; basically he saved all the bits they didn't use from various wiper upgrades they had fitted and kept them in a box under the counter.

I found a small nut and set screw was a good replacement for the pin.
