Having fitted the cambelt on my '83 Excel over the weekend I finally managed to shift the freewheeling bearing on the mounting for the Aircon compressor.A real knuckle shredder! Even when I'd got the bearing loose it still wasn't enough to get it over all 3 pulleys. In the end I had to remove the crank pulley, get the belt on and then with some force shove the crank pulley back on.
Anyone else here had experience with Aircon on Excels?Seems like a bit of a bodge job.

I recently changed aircon-belt I had to loosen the tensioner, lift it, pull the belt outside tensioner towards radiator and then lower the tensioner below the belt.Bigvolvo wrote:Having fitted the cambelt on my '83 Excel over the weekend I finally managed to shift the freewheeling bearing on the mounting for the Aircon compressor.A real knuckle shredder! That worked well for changing belt, however it took a while to figure that out
