I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to avoid too much repetition - prices and order form are in the For Sale thread : http://www.lotusexcel.net/phpbb/viewtop ... f=2&t=9489

And a small reminder - the "exclusivity" period is over and the frames are now also available from Lotusbits. If you need them in a hurry, check there too as Mike may well have a set or two in stock.

Are Lotusbits getting them from the same place? Or direct off you? Or is theirs an entirely independent effort?

Same manufacturer. (They're a very useful old-fashioned company who have a lot of skill in making odd things for old cars. They're also working on the windscreen trim for Elite & Eclat now. Expect news from Lotusbits on that very soon.)

Mike and I had an agreement that the club would have exclusivity until after the resto. show in order to put us in a more financially sound position, and allow us to trade at the NEC without breaking the rules. Now that's happened, the supply chain has opened up so that the commercial entities can work within the VAT system.

If you're VAT registered, you should buy from Lotusbits so you can claim the VAT back (if it's for commercial use). If not, you can go to Lotusbits, who may have some in stock, or you can wait until we have enough orders to put a batch through the club.

And I'd like to thank Mike for the honourable and supportive way he stuck to the agreement.

A previous post on this subject referred to rubber/cloth strips that fit the frames.
My interest is in locating this material to replace in my existing frames as one window motor could not power against the now swollen strips. Is there any advice on suppliers, perhaps I have missed a reply? It seems Baines does not fit.

10 out of 10 to Mike Taylor at lotusbits. If you want to see how quick a driver he is go to the Dukeries rally at castle donington on the 20th August and see his excel chassied sunbeams. I'll be busy spannering on some other cars but when I get the chance it is a great place to spectate and get quite close to the action and get right up to the cars in the pits service area.

I have lots of samples, but I'm not sure about any of them. I'm waiting for Jerry to give his opinion since he's also searching. With a bit of luck, we'll manage to get together before the end of the month. HOWEVER, in my experience, the felt channel/strip doesn't expand - it's the metal of the frame (rusted) that bulges underneath it.

Window Frames - I've had a couple of enquiries about them in the last few days so I'm looking into getting another batch made. This may be the last cost-effective batch ever so if you think you'll need some, NOW is the time to order, please.

Any future frames are likely to be more expensive as we'll lose the economy of scale in the production process.
