Leather cleaner/conditioner?

Post by Dougie »

What's every one else using on their leather to keep it soft, and keep it from cracking :?:

Unfortunately a few cracks on the front seats of mine when I get her.

I use AutoGlym products, inside and out.

I use a leather cleaning kit we got from Land of Leather for the sofa! I then use autoglym leather care cream to keep it supple but it's starting to look its age.A re-trim would be nice but thats bottom of the list for now.

Has anyone tried using the leather recolouring kit from Woolies. Mine is magnolia leather starting need some attention - would seem that this kit sells well but I dont know anyone whose tried it and not keen to start splashing all sorts over the leather without a bit of first hand advice.

I used a Wollies restoration kit.

Worked extremely well, but leather needs to be really scrubbed (I used steel wool) when cleaning to ensure a good key for the colour. My first attempts ended up a bit patchy.

Cheers Robert

Did you find it was able to cover the patches where the leather is bare or able to mask these reasonably well? -these are small -generally where the leather creases.

I was lucky, no bare patches, just a few creases where the colour was a bit bare. The kit instructions recommend doing two coats. That gave me a pretty solid colour all over. It's not concours however, for that I'd need to recover the seats. Anyway after treatment (the seats not me), I resorted to the old Aussue standby, sheepskin seat covers
