Race seats

Post by 340R »

I would like to replace the original front seats with Sparcos or omp.
When I ask these guys here around, I´m sure they even don´t know what a Lotus Excel is,
let alone know if any seat consoles are existing for it.
What seats on which consoles do you who go on track seriously have built in?
By the way,
who does fit rollcages for the Excel ? Where can I have pictures ?

Theres a member on here who races his Eclat a lot with good success. He may be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm not aware of any 'off the shelf' roll cages for the Excel, but any company who do custom roll cage installations should be able to make you up one to suit. Expect to pay up to/around £100 per point.

It may be worth speaking to Demon Tweeks about the seats. They supply a lot of the brands and the appropriate mounting rails, and a line of universal ones that you could possibly use.

The lucky thing is that the mounting points are flat, so fitting anything is going to fairly simple.

As the sliders are from an XJS, (and Metro), tell them this for the subframes, but don't forget, if there is too much subframe between the seat base and the body, your head will touch the roof.
