For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Fuel Gauge:- Flicking

Post by MrCoolA »

Now before you all go "that's what the do" this is different.........................The fuel gauge actually flicks to the stop on the full end of the gauge and it is as far as i can discern an electrical issue, but for the life of me i can't find out what............it can settle some time and then re start, it is very infuriating....................Any one any ideas??

i though it may be a voltage regulator but i would have thought that the other instruments would have flicked as well but no.........

i have a good 14.3 Volts on my digital volt meter although this can vary but only bu points of a volt......

Similar to what can happen to the oil pressure gauge if a connection comes loose.

Possibly a broken wire or loose connector somewhere ?

I had it intermittently showing full. Was a loose connection above the tank where the sender connects to the loom.
